The three-piece alternative rock outfit Dinosaur Pile-Up broke out of the enthusiastic Leeds, England rock scene at the end of the last decade as their debut album Growing Pains received complimentary comparisons to the cream of ’90s college rock music, while touring with the likes of Pixies, Feeder, Cage The Elephant and Twin Atlantic. With three singles added into rotation at BBC Radio 1, they quickly became one of the hottest-tipped of a new generation of UK rock acts, and the latest incumbent of the “grunge revival” at the hands of a media hungry for one. Last month Matt Bigland, Mike Sheils and James Sacha released their sophomore effort Nature Nurture, an album that builds on the crisp, euphoric power-pop of their debut, but paints it in broader colors and a wider emotional range. While retaining what made the rock world fall for them in the first place, it revels in the rich history of British pop from the 60s and 70s with a distinct element of the 90s. The lead single “Arizona Waiting” has been named the “Hottest Record In The World” by Zane Lowe (influential DJ on BBC Radio 1) and they just finished their headline tour in the UK, with future U.S. dates to be named shortly.

Vance Joy has an original voice which at first he kept to himself. Feeding on a diet of The Pogues, Paul Kelly, and whatever else was playing, he cut his teeth performing at open mic nights in Melbourne. It is folk music with pop influences. His songs capture the familiar pulse of everyday experiences in a unique and celebratory manner, while his lyrics will reach out to you and hold on for a moment. A perfect example is his latest single, “Riptide,” taken from his God Loves You When You’re Dancing EP. The song has worked its way into fans’ hearts, winning more and more people over with each passing day. As the song continues to climb the charts it was recently certified Gold by ARIA (Australian Record Industry Association) and reached No.1 on Hype Machine’s Most Popular Chart within hours of release. Vance Joy shows signs of following the success of Gotye and fellow Australasian Lorde – flawless musicianship, great musical melodies and intelligent lyrics! Following his signing to Atlantic Records, he’s been busy on tour criss-crossing the globe for tours in Australia, Canada and the US.
Kingswood is an indie rock outfit from Melbourne consisting of Fergus Linacre (vocals), Alex Laska (guitar), Mango Hunter (bass) and Justin Debrincat (drums). These Triple J darlings have made quite a name for themselves in Australia with their first three singles “Yeah Go Die,” “Medusa” and “She’s My Baby.” They have returned with their fourth single “Ohio” and are building momentum across the pond. The latest single is taken from their Change Of Heart EP Deluxe version that is currently available on iTunes (Australia) and from the band’s website www.kingswoodband.com. The eight-song limited edition release has hints of Led Zeppelin and Queens of the Stone Age, which draws from their blues and rock influences. The unsigned rockers are getting ready to travel to Nashville to record their debut album next month.
Robyn, Tove Styrke and Veronica Maggio are successful singers from Sweden – and behind their voices are the musicians and band members who have stepped out on their own to form The Royal Concept. Based in Stockholm, the quartet which was originally known as The Concept Store and simply The Concept features David Larson (vocals/guitar), Filip Bekic (guitar), Magnus Robert (bass) and Frans Povel (drums). The band debuted in 2010 with the single “Damn!” and instantly received comparisons to Phoenix with their electronic indie pop sound. The next year they gained even more fans with the singles “D-D-Dance” and “Gimme Twice” around the same time of the final name change to The Royal Concept. In April of last year the foursome signed with Jason Flom President & Founder Lava Records and released their self-titled debut EP in June. The band also signed with the booking agency Paradigm in the US, X-ray Touring in Europe and Luger in Sweden. They have returned with a brand new track called “On Our Way” which is taking radio and the internet by storm, which you can listen to by clicking HERE.
