Echotape was formed in mid-2010 by a quintet of like-minded individuals from the music scene in a small, off-the-map town in the South of England. In the spring of 2011, one of their early demos found its way into the hands of Killing Joke bassist and legendary producer Youth (Dido, The Verve, Futureheads and one-half of The Fireman along with Paul McCartney). On their third meeting, Youth declared that he wanted to record Echotape’s debut album–with no label or media yet aware of the act’s existence, Youth asked the five-piece to decamp to his studio in the hills outside Grenada, Spain. Echotape’s first commercial release was a four-song EP entitled Sky Above Quarley Hill. Their songs “Unstable,” Riding For A Fall” and “Came Into My Blood” all earned global airplay in the UK, U.S., Germany, South Africa and Japan, helping to build their international fan base. Echotape just wrapped up UK support tour dates with one of Russia’s most successful bands, Mumiy Troll and will continue to gig throughout the rest of this year. Their latest single, “Far From Heaven,” was mixed by GRAMMY-Award winner Simon Gogerly (U2, No Doubt, Massive Attack) and will be a great fit at radio and for sync options. Mexico City, Mexico singer/songwriter Daniel Sobrino always had a love for music since childhood. At the age of 19, he picked up the piano as his principal instrument and began crafting his own songs. That journey took him on the best ride of his life by discovering new colors and sounds with his instrument of choice. His musical influences range from the legendary Sir Elton John to current standouts such as John Legend, Adele, Regina Spektor and Michael Bublé. At the end of 2011, Sobrino performed alongside Justin Bieber and Drake for the “A Time To Love” event with Stevie Wonder at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles. He’s currently in the studio working on his own material and recently released his first official offering, “Losing It.” The timeless track already has U.S. specialty radio interested and earned some early comparisons to Bruno Mars, Mark Ronson and Gnarls Barkley. The song was recorded with Platinum selling producer/writer Fingazz and A&R’d by A&R Worldwide’s Monte Malone.

Formed just over five years ago by Jesse and Kay Nambiar, the Dutch group Valerius has been getting great feedback from both radio stations and TV shows in the Netherlands with their latest single, “I Cannot Put Us Back Together.” The band had major success in 2009 and 2010 with their major breakthrough hit, “She Doesn’t Know.” Their debut self-titled album entered the Top 3 charts in various countries including Indonesia, where the band had a No.1 chat position for several weeks and played various sold out shows, the first for any Dutch act. Having done a variety of tours and support shows throughout the world, Valerius entered their studio last year to write their next album. Adding a keyboard player turned out to be the key to their new sound, with electronic synths and beats throughout the album, without leaving their signature funky guitar sound. Their new album, Marilyn White, is due for release in early 2013.
